Now’s the Time to Meet Her

~Ars poetica

Pay the parking meter
with invisible coins
from your nonexistent
pocket. Don’t you want to
meet her? I prefer my
method of parking like
poetry – free! But I
owe it my dues and so
do you. Do you hear it?
I mean her. No. Do you
hear me meter as I
push purr my car to park
in your paid spot? Jingle
jangle coins in fingers
to tip your metal hat.
The only time we wage
to meet her on page, on
paper: the currency
I only have to give.
